After “retiring” in 2019, I wondered what I would do. Don’t worry, God had answers.
The result of going on a three-month short-term mission to Guam as a transmitter engineer for the big shortwave broadcasting station there was 10 more return trips. During the time in Guam, there were many opportunities to serve as a transmitter engineer, to manage the restoration of the 10 towers, and, most important of all; to begin producing half-hours programs for broadcast into Asia.
Initially, the programs were only in English and only in Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) which is an amazing technology that results in crystal clear audio without static or fading at great distances. It also includes the ability to embed text, images and files in the broadcast.
I began an organization to produce the radio programs, called Global Radio Ministries. As missionary with JARON Ministry International, we began calling the broadcasts, “Air JARON.”
Today, Global Radio Ministries has grown to 10 staff members and can produce in over 180 languages and use the voice of the original speaker in any of those languages, a technology we call, “Transclonation.”
We also were blessed with the addition of three more grandchildren, making a total of eight. The older kids had become old enough to work with their hands, minds and hearts to make things and enjoy the satisfaction of giving them away to others.
